Betsson – Explainer Art Direction

The challenge was to develop a visually engaging explainer that captured the excitement of online gaming while presenting Betsson through a polished and contemporary visual style.

Working with Betsson, I developed the creative direction for an animated explainer comparing the experience of an online casino with a traditional brick-and-mortar venue. The objective was to create a bold, energetic visual language that embraced the entertainment value of the brand while maintaining a clean and considered design aesthetic.

The concept centred around a hybrid 2D and 3D approach. Three-dimensional environments established the familiarity of a physical casino, while two-dimensional graphics represented the digital experience, creating a visual contrast that reinforced the narrative throughout the film. This interplay between physical and virtual worlds became the foundation of the creative direction, helping communicate the product's core proposition in a memorable and visually engaging way.

Using a focused colour palette derived from Betsson's brand identity, I developed a cohesive visual language that balanced bold graphic moments with more refined compositions. The resulting styleframes established the creative direction before evolving into the storyboard and final animation.
