National Geographic: Documentary Case Study

Client:

Mattmograph

Role Played:

Art Director

I had the opportunity to contribute to National Geographic's latest documentary series, 'WWII Skies from Above', which turned out to be a six-month long project. My role involved designing and animating over 90 scenes using projection mapping techniques in C4D. The aim was to add depth and cinematic appeal to archival images from WWII.

Currently, I am in the process of creating a case study reel to showcase my favourite scenes and provide insights into the behind-the-scenes process. To give the case study its own unique identity, I designed frames that were inspired by the maps used in war rooms during WWII. These frames create a 3D environment in which I can navigate and transition between scenes related to the documentary project.
